A free no obligation 20 minute consultation is offered to provide an opportunity
for clients to decide whether cognitive behavioural therapy is right for them.
In their everyday lives people experience negative emotions like concern,
sadness or prehaps annoyance . These are perfectly healthy emotional
reactions to things that happen and will pass in a minute, hour or a day.
Sometimes however the concern turns to anxiety , sadness to depression
and annoyance to anger and these emotions do not pass but last for weeks,
months or even years.
Then help is required to deal with the underlying beliefs that keep people
stuck in these unhealthy emotional states.
Each CBT session is specially tailored to the client’s individual needs which
are discussed in the first consultation. Over the course of the following
consultations the client is helped to develop personal resources and
techniques to gain control over their irrational thoughts or behaviours that
cause emotional disturbance like anxiety .
Normally six to eight sessions are required .
